The Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and The University of Vermont Medical Center are seeking a part-time faculty psychiatrist at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level on the clinical scholar pathway to join an enthusiastic team of professionals at The University of Vermont Medical Center. This 400-bed university-based general hospital includes a 28-bed state-of-the-art adult psychiatry inpatient unit. The hospital is the principal teaching site for residents and medical students at The Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

The candidate will participate in the Psychiatry Consultation Service for and will also provide consultation or direct patient care in other aspects of the system.

The Psychiatry Consultation Service is a team of psychiatrists that consult to all medical and surgical services at the hospital, including pediatrics, and is led by an attending psychiatrist with subspecialty qualification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. General psychiatry residents spend three months, full-time on the service, which also hosts medical students on clerkships and electives, PA students, and other interested learners.

The selected candidate will demonstrate the training and expertise to provide direct patient care, collaborate with other professional disciplines, and work with referring agencies and providers. In addition they will be responsible for supervision and teaching of house officers, medical students, and other staff. An appreciation of the importance of and satisfaction from performing these critical functions and an ability to work collaboratively are essential. Applicants must have a medical degree and be board certified (preferably) or board eligible in Psychiatry. Board eligibility/certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is a plus.

Anticipated Pay Range

Assistant Professor $151,766-$156,766

Associate Professor $159,315-$164,315

Professor $163,002 – $168,002

The referenced salary ranges reflect the combined total range based on dual employment by both the University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Health Medical Group. The salary ranges do not include all components of compensation. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary ranges stated herein.
