Rheumatologist

This role involves providing comprehensive care for adult rheumatology patients in an established outpatient practice, with responsibilities including patient evaluation and management, telehealth inpatient consultations, office-based procedures such as joint injections, and shared call with nurse triage support. The position offers opportunities to use in-office ultrasound and participate in teaching medical students and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluating and managing adult rheumatology patients in the ambulatory setting
  • Providing inpatient consultation support through telehealth and e-Consults
  • Performing office-based procedures, including joint injections
  • Opportunity to utilize in-office ultrasound for patient care, if desired
  • Call facilitated by nurse triage and shared equally amongst UPMC Providers
Required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology
  • Fellowship-trained or graduating fellow eligible to practice in Pennsylvania
  • Commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care

  • Location: UPMC Rheumatology, 3130 Grandview Rd, Building B, Suite 2, Hanover, PA 17331
  • Schedule: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Day Shift
  • Practice Setting: Established outpatient rheumatology practice with two experienced rheumatologists
  • Call: Minimal call responsibilities with after-hours nurse triage support; shared equally among UPMC providers
  • Retirement Benefit: Employer-funded pension plan in addition to a 403(b)-retirement plan with 50% employer match
