Job Summary

The duties of a Sleep Medical Director is to maintain compliance with accreditation standards and support Cibola General Hospital mission and values.

Primary Functions

Direct and ongoing oversight of testing and ensure proper qualifications of all medical and technical personnel. Required to work approximately 20 hours per month. Required to be on-site in the sleep facility not less than eight hours per month. Provide direct and ongoing oversight of testing protocols and the quality of testing including operation and calibration of the equipment. Will not be interpreting sleep studies or seeing patients. Review, report and modify the quality assurance program on a quarterly basis. All quality assurance metrics must be reported and reviewed by the medical director or the designated board-certified sleep specialist a minimum of once each quarter. The reviewer of the report must sign and date the report; a copy of the report must be kept on file for a minimum of one year. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education And Experience

Degree / Education: Doctoral degree, either MD or DO, graduated from an accredited training program. Successfully completed training in an ACGME accredited fellowship in sleep medicine. Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Possess and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Experience: Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sleep Medicine Physician. Board Certification: Board Certified in sleep medicine by the AMerican Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) or certified in Sleep Medicine by a member board of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Licensure: Possess a valid unrestricted New Mexico License. Registration: Possess a current Drug Enforcement Agency registration for controlled substances.
