Position Overview:
We are seeking a California-licensed Medical Director to serve as a Collaborating Physician for our growing team of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) working within our payor programs. This role is ideal for a board-certified physician passionate about clinical excellence, administrative leadership, and health equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated collaborating physician for NPs and PAs in California.
- Provide clinical oversight and support to ensure high standards of care.
- Be available for 4–8 hours per month for direct and indirect communication with providers.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, including gap closure programs and PCP engagement strategies.
- Assist with clinical protocol development and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Promote a culture of excellence, compassion, and innovation in care delivery.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with active, unrestricted California medical license.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience; leadership or administrative experience preferred.
- Passion for serving underserved populations and improving access to care.
- Familiarity with Athenahealth and NCQA quality metrics is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
