BeOne Medicines is seeking a transformational and mission-driven leader to serve in the newly established role of Vice President, Head of Global Patient Affairs. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Medical and Patient Affairs, North America and International. This individual will build and lead a new Global Patient Affairs function dedicated to embedding the patient voice across the product lifecycle – from early research and development, regulatory engagement, commercialization, access and throughout the product lifecycle to ensure patient insights shape decisions across the organization.

This is a dynamic opportunity for a seasoned Leader, who will lead the vision, strategic development and execution of a Global Patient Affairs function. As a key member of the Global Medical and Patient Affairs leadership team, the Head of Global Patient Affairs will act as a catalyst for organizational change, representing the patient perspective and partnering cross-functionally to shape and execute an integrated End-to-End patient strategy that reflects the real-world needs and lived experiences of patients and care partners. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of building global capabilities from the ground up, fostering deep engagement with patient advocacy communities, navigating regulatory / compliance frameworks and demonstrating expertise in clinical trials, products’ launches and commercialization. The ideal candidate brings an entrepreneurial mindset, leads by example and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments where innovation and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Essential Functions Of The Job

Strategic Leadership & Function Building

Build a best-in-industry Global Patient Affairs team aligned with patient needs, strategic partnerships and business objectives. Define and execute a comprehensive end-to-end patient affairs roadmap aligned with corporate objectives and countries’ needs, integrating patients’ insights into drug development, access, and commercialization strategies. Serve as the company’s primary internal and external thought leader on patients’ engagement and advocacy. Foster a company-wide patient-first mindset and champion the inclusion of the patient voice across all levels of decision-making. Ensure patient affairs initiatives comply with global, regional, regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

Patient Advocacy & Engagement

Cultivate enduring, trust-based partnerships with Global, US, and Regional patients’ advocacy organizations, patient communities and caregivers Facilitate the integration of patients’ insights into trial design, clinical endpoints, recruitment strategies, patient materials, and trial transparency. Lead patient advisory boards, roundtables, and journey mapping efforts to enhance care delivery and patient support programs.

Patient Education

Develop and implement strategies to inform and educate patients and communities about BeOne Medicines’ pipeline, clinical studies, and approved therapies in a clear, accessible, and compliant manner. Advance health literacy by designing clear and accessible educational materials and programs, ensuring patients and caregivers can understand and act on information related to clinical trials, treatments, and disease management. Guide the development of disease education and awareness initiatives to support early diagnosis, enrollment, and community empowerment. Lead the development and execution of patient-centered digital engagement initiatives, leveraging innovative platforms and technologies to enhance education, support, and two-way communication with global patient communities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with R&D, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Global Commercial, Government Affairs, Corporate Communications, Compliance, and Country Organizations to align patient engagement strategies. Incorporate and elevate patient voice in key decision-making forums (Global Product Teams, Brand Teams, Clinical Development Teams). High ethical standards: Collaborate with Compliance and Legal to develop and uphold global standards, policies, SOPs, and position statements governing patient interactions. Serve as a key advisor on indication prioritization, lifecycle planning, HEOR/RWE initiatives, and external scientific and policy communications. Operational Oversight

Lead and grow a high-performing, diverse global patients’ affairs team with career development mentorship and development plans. Monitor trends, dashboards, and emerging opportunities to ensure data-informed decision-making across the function.

External Thought Leadership

Represent BeOne at global, regional conferences, influencing industry-wide Patient Affairs best practices.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Advanced Doctorate degree (e.g., PharmD, Ph.D.), MD preferred. Professional Certification in Patient Advocacy and/or Professional Advocacy in Life Sciences preferred. 5-7 years of experience in global patient affairs, advocacy or engagement leadership roles, preferably in oncology. Proven ability to lead strategy development, build highly effective teams, and manage complex, matrixed cross-functional programs at the executive level. Deep understanding of clinical development, regulatory frameworks, product launch/commercialization, access and reimbursement models, and global compliance standards for patient engagement. Demonstrated success in establishing meaningful, long-term partnerships with various patient advocacy organizations and patient communities. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence C-suite, scientific, commercial, and community audiences. Strong ethical and compliance mindset given nature of patient engagement, as well as regional and cultural mindset to operate globally with regional nuance to deliver positive patient outcomes and experiences. Salary Range: $349,000.00 - $439,000.00 annually

Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
