Position Overview

Based on demand from our client-base, Uwill is expanding its medical offering and seeking a founding Physician Leader (PL). This is a contract position that reports to the SVP, Administration. The PL will interact with the Uwill leadership team and will help shape Uwill’s policies and procedures for all our online medical work, focusing first on urgent care. This role  is responsible for achieving clinical outcomes, optimizing utilization and costs, and ensuring high patient satisfaction across the medical offering. The MD provides medical care, overseeing and building the capacity of an advanced practice team delivering medical care in online settings. Responsibilities include establishing and monitoring physician policies and procedures, supervising other medical professionals, and delivering telehealth care services.


Qualifications

Education and Training Medical degree from US-accredited institution Board Certified in Emergency, Internal, or Family Medicine  At least 10 years’ experience as practicing physician with a focus in urgent or primary care At least 2-3 years’ experience in clinical/administrative leadership position in a leading telemedicine company At least 2-3 years of experience supervising mid-level nurse practitioners and physician assistants At least 3 years’ experience of providing care via telemedicine Training/education as a physician leader preferred Licensure  Unrestricted license to practice medicine in multiple states, including New York specifically and ideally including membership in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact,  and willing to obtain licensure in states where not currently licensed Unrestricted DEA registration, including New York specifically, and willing to obtain as needed in additional states Other Available to work occasional evening and weekend days each month  Experience working in a high-growth, fast-moving company preferred


Key Responsibilities

Serve as Physician Leader Perform policy development and quality control duties as directed Provide digital urgent care services, including prescribing non-controlled substances as warranted Where required by State law, provide remote supervision for nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), and registered nurses (RN) as they conduct patient assessments, prescription and management of acute and chronic conditions, and care management. This includes ongoing chart reviews and performance management Advise on opportunities to improve Uwill’s model efficiency, tools, and responsiveness to Uwill users, especially attuned to Uwill’s fast-paced growth Collect data, document member interactions, organize information, track tasks, and communicate with the team, members, and community resources
