About The Role

Innovaccer is seeking a forward-thinking Medical Director to guide the clinical strategy and product development for our revenue integrity solutions, including Prior Authorization, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), and Coding Agents.

In this role, you'll bring deep clinical expertise together with a strong grasp of healthcare operations, documentation workflows, and payment models. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, operations, and client success teams to ensure that our AI-driven tools align with clinical standards, reduce administrative burden, and drive accurate, compliant coding.

This is a unique opportunity to shape intelligent automation in mid-cycle workflows, improving both clinical outcomes and financial performance for provider organizations.

A Day in the Life

Serve as the clinical thought leader for mid-cycle product development—providing insights on physician workflows, documentation practices, and coding accuracy Guide the development and optimization of our co-pilots/agents, ensuring clinical relevance and usability at the point of care. Helping refine clinical rule set that surface documentation gaps and drive specificity in support of accuracy Conduct clinical reviews and partner with clients to identify performance improvement opportunities related to documentation and coding Collaborate with product managers to define use cases, evaluate outcomes, and iterate on features based on real-world workflows Support development of closed-loop feedback systems that connect outcomes and documentation quality to provider behavior and platform insights Partner with go-to-market and client-facing teams to articulate clinical and financial value to provider organizations and health systems Contribute to clinical research or white papers that validate Innovaccer's approach to revenue cycle innovation and AI-assisted care documentation

What You Need

MD or DO with active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (preferred: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Hospital Medicine). Demonstrate experience in specialty care Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience with a strong understanding of outpatient/inpatient workflows and documentation Demonstrated experience implementing and operationalizing evidence-based clinical outcome measures Experience refining care protocols based on performance metrics and outcome trends Hands-on experience in quality improvement initiatives Familiarity with statistical approaches for analyzing longitudinal outcomes, stratifying populations, and evaluating intervention impact Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment Excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments with high ownership Experience with AI/ML-powered tools, automation, or natural language processing is a bonus
