The Remote Radiologist is responsible for interpreting diagnostic imaging studies from a remote setting using advanced teleradiology technology. This role supports nationwide imaging needs with timely and accurate reporting, contributing directly to high-quality patient care without the need for onsite presence. It enables flexibility while maintaining diagnostic excellence and clinical collaboration through virtual platforms.

The Remote Radiologist is responsible for interpreting diagnostic imaging studies from a remote setting using advanced teleradiology technology.


Responsibilities


Interpret a high volume of diagnostic studies remotely, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities. Deliver prompt, accurate, and well-documented reports to referring clinicians across multiple locations. Communicate critical and time-sensitive findings directly with providers via phone or secure messaging systems. Collaborate with technologists and support staff virtually to ensure protocol adherence and image quality. Use advanced PACS, RIS, and cloud-based teleradiology systems to manage and review cases. Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and virtual team meetings. Maintain up-to-date licensure and compliance documentation for multiple states, as required. Adhere to all HIPAA and data security standards while working in a remote environment. Contribute to a consistent workflow with no weekend or evening shifts required. Support a culture of collaboration and excellence across geographically distributed teams.



Qualifications


MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited Radiology Residency program. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (ABR or equivalent). Active and unrestricted medical licenses in applicable practice states (multi-state licensure preferred). Prior teleradiology or remote work experience preferred, but not required.


Required Skills


Proficiency in remote diagnostic tools, PACS, RIS, and EMR systems. Exceptional time management and organizational skills in a virtual work environment. Strong written communication for clear and concise report generation. Knowledge of HIPAA and teleradiology-specific data privacy protocols. Comfortable with high-volume caseloads and maintaining quality standards. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Technical literacy to troubleshoot basic remote workstation issues. Familiarity with ACR guidelines, structured reporting, and clinical decision support tools.
