Full Job Description

Cedarville University and our School of Allied Health and Psychology invites applications for the position of Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for our Physician Assistant (PA) graduate program. This is a full-time faculty position. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and credentials.


Under the supervision of the PA Program Director, the DCE is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the clinical phase of the PA Program and providing direction to the clinical year team. The DCE works with the Program Director to oversee and facilitate the clinical experience for students in accordance with ARC-PA Standards, providing a curriculum of sufficient breadth and depth to prepare students for the clinical practice of medicine. The DCE will develop, maintain, oversee, and ensure the adequacy and appropriateness of all clinical experiences in accordance with ARC-PA standards as well as program outcomes and goals.


This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a criminal history investigation. Position Requirements:

PA with an appropriate Master's degree or higher from an accredited PA Program with current NCCPA certification required. Other health professionals may be considered with equivalent qualifications (MD, DO, NP). A current (or eligible to hold and maintain), valid, unrestricted, and unqualified license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio required. A minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience required. Currently practicing clinically, full or part time, preferred. Two or more years of educational or administrative experience in an academic setting is preferred. Experience relevant to educational settings (with particular emphasis on medical education) preferred. Administrative ability to manage the clinical educational components of the PA Program required. Prior didactic, precepting, or academic appointment preferred. Familiarity with the accreditation process and requirements preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Strong quantitative and analytical skills preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate as a team member required. Excellent rapport and network-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders required. Competence and ability to develop requisite knowledge of computers, technology and software (or similar products/programs) to perform assigned tasks required. Demonstrable leadership abilities, including responsibility and self-motivation, required. The ability to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and faculty within/out the department required. Experience in the development and/or support of PA programs preferred A working knowledge of biblical texts and the ability to appropriately integrate texts into the practice of medicine required.
