The Psychiatrist conducts thorough psychiatric evaluations, develops treatment plans, prescribes medication, and monitors treatment results. They collaborate with primary care physicians and other healthcare providers, maintain medical records, and adhere to compliance and organizational policies. The role requires consultation liaison experience and 5+ years in psychiatric practice.

Psychiatric Provider Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluates using a biopsychosocial model. Makes recommendations for ongoing psychosocial or medical treatment plans. Monitors and evaluates treatment results. Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting mental status examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; and sending a request to the PCP if laboratory tests are needed and evaluating results. Discusses progress towards goals with PCPs and patients. Maintains interdisciplinary approach through consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers. Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, and legal regulations. Maintains medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and completed notes and billing same day as the visit. Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Completion of a psychiatric residency or a family medicine/psychiatry residency in an ACGME Board certified by the American board of psychiatry and neurology Valid state medical license as MD or DO Valid DEA and MCSR certificates. 5+ years’ experience in psychiatric practice Consultation liaison experience preferred
