Purpose And Scope

The Associate Medical Affairs Director, Medical Lead, Medical Affairs, US (MAUS) is accountable for supporting the implementation and execution of medical and scientific strategies for one or more product within the therapeutic area (TA) or for TA activities that cover the entire TA.

The Associate Medical Affairs Director (Medical Lead) is responsible for:

facilitation of the scientific understanding and healthcare environment in the therapeutic area; development of scientific / medical messages for respective product teams; collaborating with other medical directors to help with advisory boards, clinical studies and other medical affairs activities as requested. strategic leadership and management of interactions during medical congresses and conferences and with other organized external stakeholders; organization and preparation of scientific and medical content for internal education and training, e.g., for MSLs and Medical Directors; and collaboration with appropriate stakeholders across the company to develop and maintain key scientific messages for the TA and/or products.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Lead the development of key medical messages for assigned products and assure that they guide all scientific communications (e.g., slide presentations and training materials) May participate in review of, and in some cases creation of, non-promotional medical materials Align with Medical Directors to generate specific objectives, strategies, and tactics for the scientific engagement with select external stakeholders Lead Medical Affairs (MA) planning and execution of scientific congresses, including collaboration across broader MA organization to ensure effective alignment and congress management, coverage and reporting Contribute to the development and execution of US strategic medical plans for the assigned products that are aligned with global Core Medical Plan (CMP) where applicable Participate as needed in cross-functional product/TA teams, Lead the content development of all material for MSL including uploading and getting approval via appropriate systems. Be the Liaison between the MSL team and the HQ team continuing to look for opportunities to strengthen alignment and communication. Support training and/or training content for Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and sales representatives as required Provide operational planning/execution of MA advisory boards to understand and shape medical strategies

Qualifications Required

Doctoral degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, DO) Minimum 3 years academic or clinical experience following Proven ability to effectively collaborate and negotiate through a matrix organization Ability to communicate effectively, including scientific concepts, both in writing and in oral presentations Fluent in written and verbal English Approximately 20% travel required

Preferred

Minimum 2 years Medical Affairs relevant experience working in the pharmaceutical industry MSL or similar medical affairs experience is strongly preferred Therapeutic area experience

Salary Range: $141,400 -$202,000 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
