Job Description

Medical Director (US based remote role)

Porterhouse Medical is seeking an outgoing, experienced and growth-minded Medical Director to join our growing US team. The ideal candidate will be based in the Eastern Time Zone (EST) and will have demonstrated experience leading medical teams at a medical communications agency working in both scientific publications and medical affairs led activities. Oncology experience is preferred, though proven experience functioning as a hands-on Medical Director is most important.


This role requires the following skills and/or experience:


Lead, mentor and support diverse medical teams (medical writers and editors) to succeed in their roles and progress in their careers with the agency Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex science into compelling narratives for multiple stakeholders Review scientific content across project types to ensure excellence in quality of client deliverables Provide strategic guidance and scientific direction on manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations Mentor and guide clients and internal teams on importance of adherence to GPP 2022 and ICMJE guidelines, while maintaining flexibility to adopt client SOPs Lead the development and execution of comprehensive publication plans for select clients Support strategic planning and insight generation through literature reviews, gap analyses, and competitive intelligence Develop and deliver high-impact scientific content for advisory boards, symposia, and internal training initiatives Contribute to the development of medical platforms, scientific lexicons, and core messaging documents Collaborate with account team to ensure on time and on budget delivery of projects This position is remote with candidates on the East coast preferred. Some travel to client meetings, internal meetings and/or congresses is expected.


Qualifications:

Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) in life sciences required Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a medical communications or agency setting Proven track record in both publications and medical affairs deliverables Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills This is not a BD role, but having a growth mindset and desire to grow in your role within the agency will set you apart in the interview process.


Salary Range

$145,000 - $180,000

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, prior experience, skills, competencies, and therapeutic area proficiency needed in the role. Additional company benefits include paid time off, health/dental/vision care, available 401k plan well as a discretionary employer paid bonus.
