Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director to lead collaboration efforts with Clinical Coding Analysts, CDI Specialists, and Coding teams to ensure accurate and complete documentation for MS-DRG, APR-DRG, CPT/E&M, HCC payment methodologies, and CMS quality programs. This role involves providing clinical insights, developing educational materials, and supporting Enjoin's strategic goals, including expanding consulting services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a solid background in coding methodologies, regulatory compliance, and healthcare operations. This full-time, remote position requires a medical degree, at least 5 years of clinical experience, and a passion for driving quality and innovation in healthcare documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Communicates daily with Clinical Coding Analysts, CDI Specialists and Coding teams to provide clinical insight on charts that have been identified with potential MS and APR DRG changes, including but not limited to selection of principal diagnosis, capture of CC, MCC, procedure codes, provider query opportunity, cohort accuracy, and risk adjustment opportunities.
Demonstrates most current knowledge in MS and APR-DRGs, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/E&M, coding guidelines, Coding Clinics, Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs), and CMS Quality programs.
Assists with ongoing development of educational material for all staff involved with clincial documentation improvement.
Strives to continuously improve all aspects of the business operation through ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Maintains professional relationship with clients focusing on a high level of client satisfaction.
Maintains professional relationships with appropriate officials; communicate honestly and completely; behaves in a fair and nondiscriminatory manner in all professional contacts.
Ensures the accuracy of work, data, and information. Maintains accurate and reliable organized records.
Contributes ideas and suggestions to improve approaches, methodologies, and productivity.

Supports overall strategic goals of the company, including expansion of new consulting services.
Qualifications:
A Medical Degree and a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience within the U.S. required.
CCS, CDIP, CCDS, and/or HCQM highly preferred.
Extensive experience in MS and APR-DRGs, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/E&M, coding guidelines, Coding Clinics, Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs), and CMS Quality programs required.
Excellent leadership, communication, planning, organization, and interpersonal skills required.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time remote position. General hours of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Work is generally sedentary, requiring long periods at workstation.
Must have a reliable internet connection, phone, and a dedicated, secure workspace to ensure adherence to HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures when viewing Protected Health Information (PHI).
Enjoin provides a laptop and other necessary resources to perform duties.
Potential travel of 30% when necessary.
