Celldex is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to developing novel antibody-based treatments that improve the lives of patients with allergic, inflammatory, and autoimmune disorders. As we approach major milestones, we are seeking a visionary Vice President, Medical Affairs to lead the design and execution of Celldex’s medical affairs strategy, building strong KOL relationships, advancing Phase IV clinical programs, and driving compassionate use initiatives, IIT programs, publications, and impactful medical communications. You will build and lead a high-performing medical affairs team, establishing the structures and processes needed for a successful launch. Your expertise will shape competitive intelligence efforts and provide critical medical insight, strategy, and training to support commercial success. Partnering closely with market access teams, you will help develop compelling medical evidence that ensures patients can access Celldex medicines. You will also collaborate with clinical science and development leaders to align scientific vision, shape programs, and ultimately deliver breakthrough treatments to patients.

Responsibilities

Leads the company’s medical affairs strategy and execution, including launch planning, medical expert engagement and development, post-marketing clinical trials, compassionate use programs, investigator-initiated trials (IITs), publications, medical education, and medical communications (e.g., medical information, call center, etc.) Provides medical insights and guidance, including strategy, medical review, competitive intelligence, and training to support commercial projects Establishes and engages networks of stakeholders, including KOLs, HCPs, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and patient advocates Works closely with the market access team to develop compelling medical evidence supporting optimal patient access to Celldex medicines Provides medical support for business development opportunities, including in-licensing Oversees sponsorships and grant planning Drives strategic congress planning and represents the company at congresses Builds and leads a high-performing, collaborative medical affairs team in preparation for launch Establishes field-based medical teams (MSLs) to develop and manage a thought leader network that supports the successful implementation of Celldex plans Ensures balanced communications on the safe and appropriate use of Celldex medicines Manages external vendors and internal resources to deliver high-quality programs efficiently and within budget Ensures medical affairs compliance processes are established and followed Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of therapeutic areas

Qualifications

Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required; specialty training or experience in allergy, immunology, or related fields preferred 10–15 years of experience in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry Proven track record in developing and executing successful medical strategies Experience leading the development and execution of medical affairs launch strategies Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage a high-performing medical affairs team Proven ability to build and engage a network of KOLs Experience creating and delivering clinical value presentations preferred Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $380,000 to $470,000
