Summary

Responsible for overseeing and directing all policy and operational aspects of SummaCare’s medical and clinical activities, including, but not limited to, quality improvement, utilization management & care coordination, pharmacy services, care & disease management, operating procedures, and medical practices & interpretations. Ensure compliance with accrediting standards and regulations related to health care services. Oversight of clinical analytics and reporting around clinical key performance drivers.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education Required: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio. Experience and Training Required: 10+ years performing same or similar responsibilities. Relevant experience includes: demonstrated leadership experience in medical profession and health plan medical director or CMO roles, and expert knowledge of health care economics as it pertains to both clinical and managed care settings. Minimum 5+ years experience in Utilization Management and Quality Improvement initiatives also including HEDIS, NCQA and CMS STARs quality. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: Demonstrate excellent leadership and managerial skills. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, medical journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Make sound decisions and recommendations based on consideration of facts, priorities, resources, constraints, and alternatives. Foster a positive and team oriented environment. Organize and manage time to accurately complete tasks within designated time frames in fast-paced environment. Maintain current knowledge of and comply with regulatory and company policies & procedures. Maintain confidentiality of member health information and business information. Flexible: ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity Level of Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
