Provides leadership and tactical execution of strategy that includes field medical engagement, publication planning, medical communication/education, medical information, evidence generation and patient advocacy.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Development of Global Medical Affairs plans including, but not limited to, Publication Planning, Medical Advisory Boards, Educational Programs, Training, and Conferences
- Development and execution of Investigator-Initiated & Sponsored Research strategies and review process
- Establish and execute a strategic publication and congress plan
- Design and implementation of a process for responding to external requests for information regarding compounds in development and approved products
- Develop a strong field-based Medical Science Liaisons organization to support patient care & access
- Oversee speaker programs on disease state, current therapeutics and patient care gaps
- Work with internal team to develop key messages on disease state, MOA, target product profile, HEOR modeling, molecular diagnosis, etc.
- Build strong relationships with sponsors and other key stakeholders across the business who support, and lead change efforts related to Medical Affairs
- Participate in the recruitment and building of the Medical Affairs team. Manage and mentor Medical Affairs team members to meet the needs of the organization
- Directly prepare Head of Clinical development for upcoming executive and leadership or Global meetings, internal and/or external discussions and liaise with Celcuity subject matter experts to prepare presentations at major congresses (e.g., ASCO, ESMO, SABCS etc.)
- Identify, manage, and lead key local and global Medical Affairs projects inclusive of tracking deliverables, highlighting risks to timeline execution, and preparing core communications for Leadership.
- Establish or strengthen professional relationships with the medical and scientific community and compliantly exchange scientific knowledge with global and regional thought leaders, including 1:1 interaction, congress engagements, and advisory boards
- Collaborate internally with clinical and regulatory departments to support the planning, execution, and management of clinical trial activities, including ensuring that appropriate institutions and academic centers have opportunities to participate in clinical programs.
- Remain on the forefront of the relevant science and competitive landscape.

Experience
Required:
- MD, PharmD or PhD (MD preferred) with Oncology experience is required; Extensive experience within medical affairs or clinical research experience within the pharmaceutical industry, CRO health-related consulting company, or biomedical/clinical experience within academia (or a combination of aforementioned).
- Launch experience is critical, and experience launching the first compound for a company is highly desirable
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in clinical / research / academic medicine or equivalent pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Ability to think innovatively about medical affairs strategy and accurately anticipate future consequences and trends
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and model collaborative behavior by soliciting opinions, coupled with the ability to make key decisions and be effective in getting the team behind the decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience conducting formal presentations to Senior Management and external opinion leaders
- Strong analytical skills, especially regarding understanding and interpreting scientific and clinical research and literature, are essential
- Demonstrated self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Adept, nimble, energetic, and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment
- Capable of taking a hands-on approach and willing to “roll up one’s sleeves”

Physical Demands And Work Environment
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
