The Chief Medical Officer provides executive leadership to ensure high-quality, mission-based physician services that are clinically excellent, patient-focused, cost-effective, and exceed industry standards. Responsibilities include oversight of clinical services, quality, financial planning, strategic initiatives, and fostering collaborative relationships to support clinical services. The role requires development and implementation of clinical policies, compliance with federal, state, and TJC standards, and motivating staff to support clinical and business operations. Travel and flexible hours are required.

Full Job Description

Responsible for providing executive leadership ensuring the highest quality physician services that are mission based, exceptional in clinical quality, patient and customer focused, cost effective and exceed industry standards of physician services. Responsibilities include over-site and accountability for clinical services, practices, quality, financial planning and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include initiating and maintaining collaborative relationships that enhance and support ongoing desired and anticipated clinical services.

Licensed and credentialed as Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from accredited university Unrestricted license or eligible for licensure in State of Missouri Board Certified in primary specialty required Five years’ work experience in a clinical practice required; group practice experience preferred Two years’ experience in Medical Staff leadership with one year as a Medical Director preferred Demonstrated ability in development and implementation of clinical practice policy and procedures required Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills, with ability to prepare and deliver presentations required Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, peers, public, and all education and hierarchy of organizations Demonstrated ability to initiate strategic clinical practices, policies and procedures to maximize contribution to Hannibal Regional Healthcare System mission, community, operational and quality indicators Experience or ability to increase knowledge of Federal, State and TJC standards to ensure compliance as well as exceptional practices Ability to motivate staff through effective interaction and practices supporting contemporary models for clinical operations and in support of business operations Position requires travel and flexibility in scheduled hours to meet needs of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System
