About Handshake

Handshake is a talent marketplace designed to connect professionals with project-based work. Unlike Mercor, which emphasizes AI-driven interviews, Handshake does not require one. Instead, the platform keeps the process human-centered and efficient, aiming to bring experts into projects quickly while ensuring trust and compliance through added verification steps.

My Application Experience

The process was straightforward and efficient:

- Quick Application – Took just a few minutes to complete, with no AI interview.

- Rapid Response – I heard back within 12 hours, which made the process feel smooth and responsive.

- ID Verification – when you apply, it requires ID verification.

- Structured Training – after you get an offer, it starts with an asynchronous training, which consists of self-paced modules and quizzes. After you complete the training, you will then be able to join the project formally.

- Optional Support – recently, they've added live weekend prompt and rubric writing sessions to get physicians up to speed.

Takeaways So Far

Handshake’s process feels streamlined, structured, and physician-friendly. The quick response, and clear onboarding made it easy to get started.

Handshake’s strength lies in its simplicity and structured training. For physicians exploring AI evaluation or related project work, Handshake offers an approachable entry point that balances speed, structure, and trust.
