Endocrinologist - Advisory Board Member

Serve as an advisory board member providing strategic guidance on the clinical direction and implementation of the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP). Advocate for the program within physician networks, advise on integration into endocrinology practices, and support expansion to improve diabetes prevention and management for at-risk populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for the program within your local physician network and encourage referrals of Medicare beneficiaries with prediabetes
  • Advise on integrating the diabetes prevention program into endocrinology practices to improve accessibility and patient outcomes
  • Provide clinical insights to refine program guidelines and implementation strategies specific to patients with endocrine-related conditions
  • Engage with healthcare executives and insurers to support program adoption within Medicare and endocrinology-focused care models
  • Network with Medicare Advantage plans, primary care providers, and state health departments to promote the diabetes prevention program and expand access
  • Develop strategies to improve education and awareness about diabetes prevention among endocrinology patients and providers
  • Attend major conferences such as the annual AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinology) conference on behalf of Fruit Street, with a travel stipend provided
Required
  • Board-certified endocrinologist (MD/DO)
  • Strong interest in digital health innovation and telemedicine
  • Passion for preventative care and improving health outcomes for patients with endocrine-related conditions
Preferred
  • Experience in chronic disease prevention, public health, or population health is preferred

About the Role

We are seeking endocrinologists to serve as advisory board members for Fruit Street Health. In this role, you will provide strategic guidance on the clinical direction and implementation of our Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) with a focus on enrolling patients with prediabetes. You will help shape best practices and support the expansion of our program to improve diabetes prevention and management for at-risk populations in endocrinology practices.


As an endocrinology advisory board member, you will:

  • Advocate for the program within your local physician network and encourage referrals of Medicare beneficiaries with prediabetes
  • Advise on integrating the diabetes prevention program into endocrinology practices to improve accessibility and patient outcomes
  • Provide clinical insights to refine program guidelines and implementation strategies specific to patients with endocrine-related conditions
