Sr. Manager/Director Medical Education

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive education strategies for vascular physicians and healthcare professionals managing venous thromboembolism (VTE). Drive clinical adoption and safe use of mechanical thrombectomy products through strategic leadership, program development, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a medical education and training strategy aligned with commercial and clinical objectives.
  • Drive educational initiatives supporting new product launches, physician onboarding, and clinical excellence.
  • Serve as the internal expert on physician learning needs, preferences, and engagement approaches.
  • Design and implement live, virtual, and hybrid educational programs (e.g., symposia, peer-to-peer training, proctorships, workshops, webinars).
  • Collaborate with KOLs and internal stakeholders to develop compelling content and training pathways.
  • Evaluate and optimize educational effectiveness through feedback, metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Clinical, Marketing, Regulatory, Sales, and R&D to align education efforts across the product lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with external faculty, physician advisors, and professional societies.
  • Oversee training logistics, accreditation (e.g., CME if applicable), and vendor/agency partners.
  • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), physician educators, and early adopters.
  • Support physician advisory boards, speaker bureau development, and thought leader initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a growing medical education team, including field trainers or program managers.
  • Manage education budget and ensure cost-effective program delivery.
Required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in medical education, physician training, or clinical affairs within the vascular or interventional device space.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, training modalities, and clinical practice in vascular intervention.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work with physician KOLs.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in medical education (e.g., AdvaMed, Sunshine Act).
  • Background in launching first-in-class or novel vascular technologies.
  • Experience using training analytics or LMS systems to track educational impact.
  • The candidate should be based in the United States with full work authorization and reside close to an international airport.
  • Up to 40% travel in the US and internationally may be required for this position.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree in a scientific, medical, or clinical discipline (e.g., RN, PA, MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred.
  • Experience working with vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, or interventional cardiologists strongly preferred.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sr. Manager / Director of Medical Education to lead the development and execution of comprehensive education strategies for vascular physicians and healthcare professionals that care for patients with VTE. This role is critical to advancing clinical adoption and safe, effective use of our mechanical thrombectomy portfolio for VTE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vascular medicine or interventional specialties, medical education strategy, and hands-on experience developing KOL and fellows’ engagement programs.


Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a medical education and training strategy aligned with commercial and clinical objectives.
  • Drive educational initiatives supporting new product launches, physician onboarding, and clinical excellence.
  • Serve as the internal expert on physician learning needs, preferences, and engagement approaches.

Program Development

Salary Range: $218,000 - $268,000 annually
