Hospitalist: Days Float position at IU North, IU West
The Hospitalist float position involves practicing primarily at IU Health North and West Hospitals in a team-oriented, supportive, and collaborative environment. The role includes admitting patients, performing or supervising patient care services, supporting hospitalist APPs, and teaching students and Internal Medicine residents.
Key Responsibilities
- • Admit to inpatient or appropriate level of care
- • Perform or supervise the performance of patient care services to include history and physical examination, diagnosis, daily patient evaluation, daily progress notes, discharge evaluation, discharge summary
- • Manage transfer calls from outside hospitals and referrals
- • Medically manage for treatment of adolescent and adult patients
- • Support hospitalist APP's as needed for questions and unstable patients
- • Faculty position working with and teaching students and Internal Medicine residents
- • Medical co-management with multiple surgical services including PVS, CVS, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Urology
Required
- • Residency training in ABMS Internal Medicine program
- • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- • Physician licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
- • Family medicine ineligible due to IUSM Internal Medicine residency program affiliation and training
Preferred
- • Physicians looking for a 1-2 year transition to fellowship specialty and/or experienced hospitalist with desire for new environments

We are seeking physicians looking for a 1-2 year transition to fellowship specialty and/or experienced hospitalist with desire for new environments. - No procedures are required, open and closed ICU depending on the hospital
- Faculty position working with and teaching students and Internal Medicine residents
