Hospitalist - Houston Methodist TMC

Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and managing medical emergencies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and ensure timely communication with patients, families, and referring physicians. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the training and development of residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and managing medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services, to deliver high-quality care.
  • Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical records and billing standards.
  • Support the training and development of residents and medical students, as applicable.

  • Deliver personalized service using HM Service Standards.

Required
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Active Texas Medical License or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
Preferred
  • Prior experience in a hospitalist or nocturnist role preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage acute inpatient care efficiently.
