Key Responsibilities

- • A minimum of two years of practice post residency training from an accredited residency training program.
- • Must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and affiliated hospitals.
- • Must be eligible to practice in the State of California by the time of employment.
- • Ability to work effectively with staff and patients from diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, educational levels, sexual orientations and identities.
- • Ability to stay abreast of new medical knowledge, and to maintain and increase expertise and skills as relevant to clinical practice.
- • Ability to work independently under general direction and to work collaboratively with others.
- • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
- • Strong background and skills in clinical practice, clinical teaching, and managed care.
- • Candidates must be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- • Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and UCR affiliated hospitals.
- • Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.

This includes UCR clinics, affiliated hospitals, including the UCR Multiple Sclerosis Program, which is designated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a comprehensive multiple sclerosis care center. Fellowship training (in neuroimmunology/ multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular neurology, epilepsy, or another subspecialty) is not required. It is a preferred qualification. The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree and be eligible to practice in the State of California by the time of employment. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A minimum of two years of practice post residency training from an accredited residency training program is required. Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and UCR affiliated hospitals. The full salary range for the Physician Specialist-Neurologist is from $118,100 - $302,700 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. These appointments are part-time, up to 50%. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
