The role involves providing outpatient psychiatric care to adult and geriatric patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. The psychiatrist will manage medication, build therapeutic rapport, and independently evaluate patients to determine mental status and appropriate treatment plans. The position includes quarterly low-volume, telephone-only on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities

Required
- • Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine or DO school
- • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- • The ideal candidate currently possesses or has the ability to obtain DEA
- • Licensed to practice in State of Virginia
- • Current BLS and ACLS certification
- • Candidates must have a VA license
- • COVID 19 Vaccination is a requirement of the position
Preferred
- • One or more years Psychiatry experience preferred

TPMG Behavioral Health is a busy, established out-patient office seeking to grow their clinical team. We are looking for a full-time BC/BE adult outpatient Psychiatrist to join our expanding team. At TPMG Behavioral Health our team values building trust with our patients so we can be a partner in their care. Our providers help manage psychological and physical symptoms to better balance the quality of life for all our patients.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members as well as with patients and be able to skillfully work in a self-motivated and independent manner. Must be a team-player who is an expert with medication management and building therapeutic rapport. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with treating general adult/geriatric population with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders and be able to evaluate patients to appropriately determine current mental status and need for medication as well as implement correct treatment plan. On-call is quarterly low volume and telephone only.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine or DO school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
