This role involves leading and developing an Emergency Medicine residency program including the 2023 ACGME application process for a 2026 start. Responsibilities include direct patient care, leadership, teaching, administrative duties, and managing the program’s financial resources. The position offers an opportunity to establish a new GME program and contribute to training new physicians in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- • Develop the program curriculum and maintain current knowledge of national innovations in curriculum form and content.
- • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, counseling, evaluation, and advancement of residents.
- • Develop policies for the program and monitor overall compliance with these policies.
- • Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements as defined by the ACGME, Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) Evaluation Committee, and National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
- • Serve as the primary graduate medical education (GME) leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
- • Responsible for prudent management of the program’s financial resources.
Required
- • M.D or D.O., licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
- • 3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME –accredited Emergency Medicine program
