Rogers Behavioral Health
The physician will serve as a team leader in a multi-faceted treatment team model, working across multiple levels of care in live and virtual environments. Responsibilities include patient evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, collaboration with nurse practitioners and physician assistants, oversight of residents and fellows, and participation in quality assurance and peer review.
Key Responsibilities
- • Attend patients and assist with patient coverage at assigned locations, including multiple locations, levels of care, or virtual services within physician licensure scope
- • Conduct medication management sessions with patients
- • Conduct patient psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- • Conduct history and physical
- • Create patient treatment plans and manage updates
- • Perform patient and family education
- • Participate in team and unit meetings
- • Create discharge plans
- • Collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- • Provide oversight of medical residents and fellows working on the unit
- • Participate in the established call schedule
- • Complete all charting and documentation within 24 hours
- • Serve as attending physician for assigned units
- • Round on patients as required
- • Complete emergency detentions of patients as needed, including paperwork and interactions with regulatory agencies
- • Provide medication education with nursing staff
- • In-service treatment team as needed
- • Meet patient productivity standards
- • Complete all coding and documentation standards in compliance with organizational expectations
- • Attend the Medical Staff meeting and the Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting
- • Assist in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all contracted payors
- • Review all denials of service from payors deemed for medical reasons
- • Interface with referring parties, psychiatrists, and primary care physicians to coordinate care and aftercare
- • Market Employer as appropriate, including off-site meetings and marketing activities
- • Review potential admissions, pending cases, and declined admissions to assure policy execution and EMTALA compliance
- • Serve as an advocate for the organization
- • Provide support, information, education, and services
- • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and meetings
- • Take an active role in identifying new program development opportunities for patient care services and Employer
- • Participate in community education of behavioral health issues
- • Provide initial placement recommendations based on admitting criteria, clinical parameters, medical history, and documentation
- • Review and evaluate completed admission screenings to determine appropriate program, level of care, and mode of delivery
- • Communicate professionally and accurately
- • Refer to and work with other departments and agencies as needed
- • Report pertinent data to the attending provider and others on the team
- • Prioritize effectively in situations requiring immediate attention versus postponement
- • Immediately communicate difficult problems with referents
- • Develop and maintain relationships with medical staff and other providers across RBH for ongoing re-review or case communication
Required
- • Be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as an MD or DO with specialization in psychiatry
- • Board-eligible physician
- • Graduate of an accredited college or university and medical school
- • Successful completion of a GME accredited residency and/or fellowship program
- • Two years or more experience working in a psychiatric hospital or clinic
- • Be registered with Medicare as a community provider, or able to be registered
- • Be enrolled in a GME accredited residency and/or fellowship program and have completed at least two full years of psychiatric residency (for moonlighting residents or fellows)
- • Be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as an MD or DO (for moonlighting residents or fellows)
- • Be registered or able to be registered as a physician with Medicare and other payers as a licensed provider (for moonlighting residents or fellows)

- • Board certification
- • Leadership and/or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization
- • Experience with process improvement implementation
- • Previous work or moonlighting experience working as a psychiatrist in another licensed hospital (for moonlighting residents or fellows)

Services
1. Attend Patients at the Site:

Requirements vary for community providers vs those individuals still in residency or fellowship.
Community Provider Requirements
- Be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as an MD or DO with specialization in psychiatry
- Board-eligible physician. Board certification preferred
- Graduate of an accredited college or university and medical school.
- Successful completion of a GME accredited residency and/or fellowship program, if working with children additional residency with this age group must have been obtained.
- Two years or more experience working in a psychiatric hospital or clinic
- Be registered with Medicare as a community provider, or able to be registered.
- Leadership and/ or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization is preferred.
