External Scientific Engagement Lead

The External Scientific Engagement Lead supports and leads innovative approaches to enhance scientific exchange and external presence across all Therapeutic Areas. This role involves strategic planning and implementation of processes related to External Scientific Engagement, driving effective engagement with external stakeholders, and providing operational leadership for scientific activities and congresses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support across TAs to drive more effective, efficient and consistent engagement with external stakeholders across J&J MAF worldwide
  • Support and provide where required leadership of Global Medical Affairs workstreams related to External Scientific Engagement
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in external scientific engagement planning and execution
  • Support the development of long-term ESE & Congress Plans for key external scientific activities
  • Provide operational leadership and/or support to the monitoring of key Clinical Guidelines and management of Clinical Guidelines related engagements with Medical Societies worldwide
  • Provide support for planning and onsite leadership at designated congresses
  • Drive innovation and sharing of best practice across congresses and other scientific exchange activities, such as Advisory Boards and Steering Committees
  • Support presentations to senior management and business partners regarding ESE related processes, systems, metrics, and benchmarking
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on scientific exchange excellence
  • Ensure compliance with internal J&J SOPs and Policies
Required
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 4 years of related (pharmaceutical) work experience or an advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) with 1 year of related (pharmaceutical) work experience
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills in a multifunctional matrix environment
  • Global mindset with proven ability to partner cross culturally and regionally
  • Ability to drive projects forward to completion through planning and organizational skills while maintaining focus on the long-term strategy
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking, and collaboration and teaming skills
  • Up to 25% travel, both domestic and international, may be required
Preferred
  • Preferred previous experience in congress management, leading events and external suppliers

The External Scientific Engagement Lead will be part of the GMA Medical Adoption External Scientific Engagement team and will support and lead innovative approaches to enhance J&J IM scientific exchange and our external presence, as well as having a key and strategic role in the planning and implementation of key processes and frameworks related to External Scientific Engagement. This role reports to the Head, External Scientific Engagement and will provide support across all Therapeutic Areas.

$117,000.00 - $201,250.00
