Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) – Physician - Icahn School of Medicine – Manhattan, NY

The role involves caring for high acuity pediatric postoperative cardiac patients and those with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, ventricular assist devices, heart transplant, and complex dysrhythmias. The physician will engage in clinical service, education, mentoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration within the Pediatric Cardiac ICU team.

Key Responsibilities
  • PCICU Attendings are expected to have procedural competency for intubation, arterial lines, central lines and PICC line placement, as well as other common pediatric procedures
  • There is opportunity to collaborate on quality improvement and clinical research projects
  • The PCICU team includes Intensivists, 6 PCCM fellows, PCICU APPs who specialize in pediatric cardiac ICU care, pediatric residents, medical students, and more than 25 full-time nurses, as well as dedicated PCICU respiratory therapists, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, music therapists and child life specialists.
Required
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited program.
  • Successful completion of a 3-year Pediatric ACGME approved residency and fellowship program.
  • New York State Medical License (or eligible).
  • Board Eligible in Pediatrics Critical Care
  • Meet eligibility requirements for an appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Preferred
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Critical Care and BE/BC in Pediatric Cardiology or have one year of advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care.
  • Strong interest in clinical service, education, mentoring and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Description

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking for a Full Time Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) Physician for its department.

Successful applicants will be Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Critical Care and BE/BC in Pediatric Cardiology or have one year of advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. Successful applicants will care for high acuity pediatric postoperative cardiac patients and those with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, ventricular assist devices, heart transplant and complex dysrhythmias. Applicants should have a strong interest in clinical service, education, mentoring and multidisciplinary collaboration. PCICU Attendings are members of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care and work closely with PICU attendings and other sub specialties.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Compensation range from 270K to 350K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
