This role involves reviewing and labeling clinical narratives, EHR notes, microbiology reports, and case data related to infectious diseases. The physician will validate pathogens, diagnostic workups, antimicrobial regimens, and outcomes, audit datasets for clinical accuracy, evaluate AI-generated antimicrobial recommendations, and define annotation guidelines for complex infections.
Key Responsibilities
- • Review and label clinical narratives, EHR notes, microbiology reports, and case data related to infectious diseases.
- • Identify and validate pathogens, diagnostic workups, antimicrobial regimens, resistance patterns, and outcomes.
- • Audit annotated datasets for clinical accuracy and guideline alignment (IDSA, CDC, WHO).
- • Evaluate AI-generated recommendations for antimicrobial selection, duration, and escalation.
- • Define annotation guidelines for complex infections like sepsis and endocarditis.
- • Provide structured feedback to improve diagnostic reasoning and safety.
Required
- • MD or DO with Infectious Disease specialization
- • Board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Disease
- • Active U.S. medical license in good standing
- • 5+ years of post-fellowship clinical experience
- • Strong familiarity with EHRs, microbiology data, and clinical terminologies
Preferred
- • Experience with inpatient consults and complex infections
- • Interest in medical AI or informatics

Compensation: $160–$200/hour
Location: In-person (San Francisco)
Commitment: Up to 10 hours/week
