Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. Candidates must demonstrate strong skills in emergency surgery, surgical critical care, and trauma patient management, as well as a record of teaching and research in health services, translational science, or basic science. The Department of Surgery is seeking an experienced Surgical Critical Care Residency Program Director and Surgical Intensive Care Unit Medical Director. The Trauma Surgeon will report directly to the Chief of Trauma and the Chair of the Department of Surgery. Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school and must have completed a General Surgery residency and a Surgical Critical Care fellowship.

DMG is a not-for-profit faculty practice plan owned and operated by physicians consisting of more than 400 providers who represent all the major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. Our physicians hold faculty appointments and participate in inter-professional teaching through the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance with a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency; our program is home to the only Phoenix ACGME accredited Surgical Critical Care residency. We are one of 13 hospitals nationwide accredited by the American College of Surgeons for Adult & Pediatric Trauma and Burns.
