Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center
The Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of disorders, diseases and injuries related to Chronic Pain Management in a community health center model setting. The role includes providing comprehensive outpatient medical services for individuals and families, supervising medical assistants clinically, and verifying their clinical skills and competency. The physician may also serve as lab director for CLIA waived tests performed in the clinic and is committed to serving an underserved, culturally diverse patient population with complex chronic pain, behavioral health needs, and social determinants impacting care.
Key Responsibilities
- • Diagnosing and treating a variety of disorders, diseases and injuries related to Chronic Pain Management
- • Providing comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis
- • Medical assistant (MA) clinical supervision and ongoing verification of the MA clinical skills and competency
- • Serving as lab director for CLIA waived tests performed in the clinic at certain sites
Required
- • Graduate of an accredited Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School
- • Board Certified in a specific medical specialty or have completed residency and be Board Eligible
- • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Hawaiʻi
- • Must obtain Federal DEA and Hawaii NED Controlled Substance Licensure
- • Current BLS/BCLS certification required. Needs to be approved following AHA guidelines

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of disorders, diseases and injuries related to Chronic Pain Management in a community health center model setting; provides comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis; and is responsible for medical assistant (MA) clinical supervision and ongoing verification of the MA clinical skills and competency. Additionally, at certain sites, the physician may serve as lab director for CLIA waived tests performed in the clinic. Commitment to serving an underserved, culturally diverse patient population in a Federally Qualified Health Center setting, including patients with complex chronic pain, behavioral health needs, and social determinants impacting care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Graduate of an accredited Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School
2. Board Certified in a specific medical specialty or have completed residency and be Board Eligible. Preferred Specialties: Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine
3. Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Hawaiʻi
