Emergency Medicine Physician
Physicians will provide emergency medical care at multiple Baptist Health System locations, working shifts supported by advanced practice providers. The role involves practicing evidence-based medicine with access to clinical management tools and bedside support, contributing to a culture of shared ownership and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- • Rotate between Baptist Medical Center, Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, North Central Baptist Hospital, Northeast Baptist Hospital, St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, Resolute Baptist Hospital, and Baptist Regional Children's Center at North Central Baptist Hospital
- • Work 8-12 hour Physician shifts depending on volume trends with APP support
- • Provide emergency medical care in an ED with 29 beds and two QuickCare beds
- • Use Cerner FirstNet EMR system
- • Participate in a staffing model with APP support
- • Practice evidence-based medicine with access to Clinical Management Tools and experienced Physicians available 24/7/365
- • Engage in onboarding and ongoing support through dedicated Clinician Advocates and the USACS Annual Assembly
- • Participate in professional development programs such as Scholars leadership training, Efficiency Academy, and Provider Engagement & Patient Experience Academy

- • BC/BP in emergency medicine preferred

San Antonio's Northeast Baptist Hospital is an award-winning facility conveniently located along I-410 near San Antonio International Airport. The hospital offers extraordinary cardiovascular programs, advanced surgery options, and a variety of specialty centers. Emergent PCI and OB services are available onsite, as well as a geriatric psychiatric facility. Excellent specialty coverage (neurosurgery, ophthalmology, hand, etc.) is available across the five hospitals in San Antonio's Baptist Health System. Enjoy a simple "one call" system for admissions and transfers. NPs and PAs practice independently in the ED, meaning Physicians have no APP charts to sign.
