Meritus Health
The neurologist will perform and interpret neurological examinations and diagnostic tests, diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings, and develop individualized treatment plans. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, providing follow-up care, and educating patients and families about neurological conditions and management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- • Perform and interpret detailed neurological examinations and diagnostic testing
- • Order and review imaging studies (MRI, CT) and electrodiagnostic tests (EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies)
- • Diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- • Provide follow-up care and long-term disease management
- • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR
- • Participate in on-call coverage as required
- • Collaborate closely with primary care physicians, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, rehabilitation specialists, and multidisciplinary teams
- • Educate patients and families about neurological conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies
Required
- • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency required
- • Board certification or eligibility in Neurology required
- • Active Maryland medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- • Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required
- • Current BLS (CPR) certification required
- • Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence, and expertise in neurology
- • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at all levels
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • Strong organizational skills
- • Knowledge of case management, outcomes management, and managed care
Preferred
- • Experience in stroke care and inpatient/outpatient neurology preferred

What You’ll Do as a Neurologist at Meritus Health, you’ll:
