The Department of Neurology is seeking a Neuro-Oncologist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center.

You will be responsible for expanding a comprehensive Neuro-Oncology Service at Tufts Medical Center, delivering the highest quality, multidisciplinary care for patients with primary and metastatic tumors of the central nervous system (outpatient and inpatient consults). This includes the diagnosis and management of glioblastoma, lower-grade gliomas, brain metastases, leptomeningeal disease, meningiomas, primary CNS lymphomas, and other neuro-oncologic conditions such as paraneoplastic syndromes and neurological complications of cancer, while integrating advances in molecular diagnostics, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and clinical trials. As your practice of neuro-oncology ramps up, you may need to do some general neurology.

You will collaborate closely with Neurosurgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Neuropathology, Neuroradiology, Palliative Care, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care across the continuum—from diagnosis through survivorship and supportive care.

Department of Neurology Overview:

Research Based: Neurology research has a proven impact on patient care and outcomes. Our Department is no exception and we participate in multiple NIH- and industry-sponsored research projects as well as investigator-initiated projects to better understand and treat neurological conditions. We have two full-time Neurology clinical research coordinators that help with IRB, trial, and registry support. The incoming neuro-oncologist would be encouraged to run clinical trials, which will run through the cancer center.

Education: Our faculty are full-time academic staff members at Tufts University School of Medicine with many involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows (currently, in vascular neurology and neurocritical care). Our incoming neuro-oncologist will be responsible for some of the neuro-oncology didactics and clinic shadowing opportunities.

Nationally Recognized: Our staff is among the nation’s leaders in advancing neurology diagnosis and treatment, with many clinicians consistently recognized as “Best of Boston.”
