Upstate Medical University
Primarily focused on resident education and clinical oversight, conducting eight clinical sessions per week supervising and precepting resident physicians in adult patient care. The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical care through resident oversight and providing instruction to medical students, graduate students, and house staff. Additional duties include engagement in scholarly research, research training, interdisciplinary collaboration, and participation in governance, curriculum development, and academic administration.
Key Responsibilities
- • Conduct eight clinical sessions per week exclusively supervising and precepting resident physicians in the care of adult patients
- • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care through resident oversight
- • Provide clear, effective instruction within their area of expertise to medical students, graduate students, and house staff
- • Engage actively in scholarly research with a consistent record of publication
- • Provide research training to medical, graduate, and post-doctoral students
- • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration
- • Participate in hospital and departmental governance
- • Contribute to curriculum development
- • Engage in academic administration
- • Attend Medical Service Group meetings
Required
- • MD or foreign equivalent
- • NYS license or eligible
- • BC/BE in Internal Medicine
Preferred
- • Previous experience with general medicine patients in an academic healthcare setting preferred
