Assistant Professor Clinical Practice - Otolaryngology - Faculty

This position involves providing direct patient care specializing in neuro-otology, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. The role also includes participating in teaching activities such as conferences, lectures, bedside teaching, rounds, house staff supervision, and continuing medical education for medical students, house staff, nursing students, and allied health students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care specializing in neuro-otology including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients
  • Participate in all teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures
  • Conduct bedside teaching and rounds
  • Supervise house staff in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services
  • Participate in continuing medical education and local, regional, and national meetings
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Completed an ACGME approved residency training program in otolaryngology with training and interest in neuro-otology
  • Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
  • Eligible for or have a Texas Medical License without restrictions

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The purpose of this position is to provide faculty to meet the teaching, research and patient care needs of the Department of Otolaryngology and assist in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission. The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, specializing in neuro-otologist, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services and care of hospitalized patients. He/She participates in all teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, beside teaching and rounds, house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics and inpatient services, continuing medical education, and local, regional, and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, nursing students, and allied health students. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate should be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an ACGME approved residency training program in otolaryngology, with training and interest in neuro-otology, be Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology and be eligible for or have a Texas Medical License without restrictions.

 SALARY:

Commensurate with experience.
