Pediatric Psychiatrist - Blank Children's Hospital - Des Moines

The Psychiatrist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing crisis, acute inpatient, and partial hospitalization care. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, brief psychotherapy, and supporting hospital Residency and Fellowship programs, with on-call and consultation duties across two locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, Psychiatrist is responsible for a blend of crisis, acute inpatient, and partial hospitalization care
  • Provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management and brief psychotherapy
  • Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Offers support and education to hospital Residency and Fellowship programs
  • Demonstrates expertise in the interpretations of biopsychosocial data regarding client status and assumes accountability and responsibility for interventions prescribed
  • Role includes on-call and consultation services across two locations, including -conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care in both settings
Required
  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
