Pediatrician

The pediatrician diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of pediatric patients, providing both acute and chronic medical care. The role includes delivering excellent customer service, participating in after-hours urgent care on a rotational basis, and collaborating with medical leadership and support staff to provide comprehensive health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides for the acute and chronic medical and health maintenance care of the pediatric patients and also provides productivity as determined by the Chief Health Officer.
  • Provides excellent customer service to the patients.
  • Provides after-hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on a rotational on-call basis (Adult Medicine, Pediatric, and Women's Health).
  • Follows CareSTL Health's QAQI plan.
  • Works with the Chief Medical Officer in providing health care and services at CareSTL Health.
  • Supervises medical students and residents as needed.
  • Works with support staff to deliver health care to patients.
  • May be asked to serve as a collaborator for nurse practitioner(s) at CareSTL Health.
Required
  • Board certification as a pediatric physician licensed to practice in the state of Missouri required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Copy of license and board certification as a pediatrician, licensed to practice in the state of Missouri.
  • Current registration with the Missouri Family Care Safuy Registry.
  • Must maintain hospital-admitting privileges at appropriate hospitals.
  • Must meet criteria for Meaningful Use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Annual PPD or chest x-ray completed.
  • COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Current BLS/ CPR Certification as applicable.
  • Effective clinical and communication skills.
Preferred
  • Experience working as a board certified pediatric physician preferred.

CareSTL Health is seeking a Pediatrician to join the team! The pediatrician diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems of pediatric patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Pediatrician may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons.
  • Provides for the acute and chronic medical and health maintenance care of the pediatric patients and also provides productivity as determined by the Chief Health Officer.
  • Provides excellent customer service to the patients.
  • Provides after-hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on a rotational on-call basis (Adult Medicine, Pediatric, and Women's Health).
  • Follows CareSTL Health's QAQI plan.
  • Works with the Chief Medical Officer in providing health care and services at CareSTL Health.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Board certification as a pediatric physician licensed to practice in the state of Missouri required.
Experience:
  • Experience working as a board certified pediatric physician preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective clinical and communication skills.

Transportation Requirement:
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position supervises medical students and residents as needed.
  • Works with support staff to deliver health care to patients.
  • May be asked to serve as a collaborator for nurse practitioner(s) at CareSTL Health.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (licenses, programs, certificates, pre-employment check and post and annual screening(s):
  • Copy of license and board certification as a pediatrician, licensed to practice in the state of
  • Missouri.
