This role involves serving as Assistant Director of the Molecular and Genomic Pathology Services Laboratory, overseeing clinical molecular pathology services including high throughput technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing. The position includes managing day-to-day clinical operations, test development, regulatory compliance, and providing consultation and teaching within a pediatric hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- • Review, interpret, and sign-out of clinical oncology cases
- • Oversee adherence to technical laboratory procedures and policies as well as assist in troubleshooting technical problems

Required
- • An MD, MD/PhD in a Life Science discipline with board certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP) from the American Board of Pathology (ABP)
- • Interest in molecular pathology of hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and viral infectious diseases
- • The ability to function independently and as a member of a collaborative team
- • Attention to detail and strong communication skills

- • Experience or formal training in bioinformatics or clinical informatics is desirable but not necessary
The Department of Pathology is seeking an outstanding molecular pathologist with a broad range of experience in molecular diagnostics, including high throughput technologies, such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). The MGPS laboratory performs molecular diagnostic testing for oncology and infectious diseases specimens using NGS and conventional testing modalities, such as realtime PCR, droplet digital PCR, and fragment analysis. The MGPS laboratory offers comprehensive pediatric cancer NGS panel for solid tumors and hematopoietic neoplasms and minimal residual disease monitoring for Histiocytosis. The laboratory is actively engaged in development of novel assays for viral resistance testing, methylation classifier, and liquid biopsy testing and implementing robotic automation to support the active growth. The laboratory team consists of experienced technical specialists for conventional and NGS wetlab assay development, as well as a dedicated clinical bioinformatics team for the development of bioinformatics pipelines, software systems, and laboratory informatics infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position will include oversight and direction of the day-to-day clinical operations of the MGPS laboratory. The faculty in this position will work closely with the Medical Laboratory Director to:

- Provide consultation to healthcare professionals and clients regarding test utilization and interpretation

Requirements For This Clinical Faculty Position Include
