Laboratory Medical Director/Pathologist

This role involves serving as Laboratory Medical Director with full oversight of hospital-based pathology and laboratory operations, including clinical diagnostic responsibilities in surgical pathology and cytopathology. The position requires active participation in quality improvement initiatives, hospital committees, and fostering collaboration among laboratory services, clinicians, and hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Laboratory Medical Director for hospital-based pathology and laboratory operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission)
  • Provide clinical oversight for transfusion services, hematology, microbiology, chemistry
  • Sign-out of general surgical pathology and cytopathology cases
  • Participate actively in quality improvement, hospital committees, and multidisciplinary case discussions
  • Foster collaboration and communication between laboratory services, clinicians, and hospital leadership

PathGroup is seeking an experienced AP/CP Board-Certified Pathologist to serve as a Laboratory Medical Director (LMD) at our partner hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This full-time, hospital-based leadership opportunity offers a blend of clinical diagnostic responsibilities and laboratory operational oversight, providing a visible role in hospital leadership and ongoing quality initiatives.
