Thoracic Medical Oncologist Baystate Health

Provide specialized care for patients with thoracic malignancies within a multidisciplinary cancer program, collaborating with various specialties. Participate in tumor boards, develop care pathways, contribute to clinical trials, and engage in teaching and mentorship. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized care for patients with thoracic malignancies within a robust, multidisciplinary framework.
  • Collaborate with surgery, pulmonary medicine, radiation oncology, radiology, and pathology.
  • Participate in tumor boards, care pathway development, and programmatic growth in thoracic and head & neck oncology.
  • Develop or contribute to a Head & Neck oncology niche if aligned with your interests.
  • Access robust support from molecular diagnostics, interventional pulmonary, and radiation oncology, including advanced technologies.
  • Contribute to and lead clinical trials (investigator-initiated, cooperative group, and industry-sponsored).
  • Engage in teaching and mentorship of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Lead or expand thoracic and head & neck oncology initiatives, including clinical pathways and subspecialty programs.
  • Participate in translational research and biomarker-driven trials.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to enhance early detection, survivorship, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to innovation in multidisciplinary cancer care delivery models.
Required
  • ABMS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology (Hematology/Oncology).
  • Demonstrated interest or fellowship training in thoracic oncology.
  • Eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure.
Preferred
  • Experience or interest in Head & Neck cancers preferred.

Baystate Health, a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts, is seeking a BC/BE Medical Oncologist with a focus in Thoracic Oncology and interest in Head & Neck cancers to join our expanding faculty at Baystate Medical Center.

Qualifications: ABMS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology (Hematology/Oncology). Demonstrated interest or fellowship training in thoracic oncology; experience or interest in Head & Neck cancers preferred. Eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure.

Compensation: $374,500-588,250.

The compensation ranges in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
