Faculty Professor Assistant - Full-Time
The role involves leading a rigorous, externally funded research program in neuroscience with a focus on pediatric neurological disorders. The candidate will collaborate with clinicians and scientists across multiple departments, mentor trainees, and contribute to the academic community through service and teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- • Lead a rigorous, externally funded research program aligned with CNI's mission
- • Collaborate with clinicians and scientists across Pediatrics, Neurology, Human Genetics, ophthalmology and related departments
- • Participate in different graduate programs
- • Mentor students, postdocs, and research staff
- • Contribute to the broader academic community through service and (if desired) graduate/medical teaching
Required
- • Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. scientists in neuroscience with a strong commitment to independent research
- • Strong record of research productivity and innovation (pre-/postdoctoral publications, grants, or translational advances)
- • Evidence of independence and a compelling vision for an externally fundable research program
- • Commitment to mentoring trainees and fostering an inclusive, collaborative lab culture
- • Assistant Professors have 1-6 years of experience with demonstrated academic progress/contributions in their pediatric specialty
- • PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance
Preferred
- • Experience or interest in pediatric neurological disorders (neurodevelopmental or neurodegenerative)
- • Interdisciplinary strengths welcome (e.g., genetics/genomics, systems & circuits, computation/AI, iPSC and organoids, imaging, model organisms, gene therapy, RNA biology, neuroinflammation, neuromuscular or rare diseases)
