Assistant Professor of Clinical - Pediatrics, Hematology

This role involves leading the Pediatric Phase I Program and serving as Director of the Pediatric Sarcoma Program within the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. The position includes providing inpatient and outpatient care, teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, and conducting basic, translational, and clinical research to support publications and grant submissions.

Required
  • MD/DO at the assistant/associate professor level
  • Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
  • Maintain a valid Medical License in the State of Florida
  • Valid DEA license
  • Demonstrate both clinical and scholarly expertise in pediatric hematology-oncology
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the teaching of students and housestaff
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently as part of collaborative groups
  • Contribute to basic, translational, and clinical research

The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is initiating a search for a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist to serve as a full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and lead its expanding early phase clinical trial program for children and adolescents with hematologic and oncologic disorders as Director of the Pediatric Phase I Program. The Division has comprehensive programs in oncology, neuro-oncology, sickle-cell disease, stem cell transplantation, and hemophilia and is an integral part of the University of Miami's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI Designated Cancer Center. Excellent opportunities for participation in clinical or translational research collaborations are available within existing programs in tumor biology and immunology, tolerance, and graft-versus-host disease. The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is a full member of COG, with active federally funded programs in pediatric oncology, SCT, coagulation and thrombosis, and sickle cell disease in the state-of-the-art Batchelor Children's Research Institute. The Department of Pediatrics has a large residency program and the Hematology-Oncology Division operates a fellowship program.

 The candidate must have demonstrated proficiency in the teaching of students and housestaff and the ability to work efficiently and independently as part of collaborative groups as well as contribute to basic, translational, and clinical research.
