Key Responsibilities
- • Will participate in development and adjudication of claims for disability benefits by providing oral/written consultation to the staff.
Required
- • Graduate of approved medical school with degree of MD or DO and licensed by the SC Board of Medical Examiners
- • Experience in practice of medicine through internship completion
- • Complete a federal background investigation and suitability determination by the Social Security Administration to have access to Social Security disability data, records, and systems
Preferred
- • Must complete full training in Social Security policies and procedures administered by Disability Determination Services

- Graduate of approved medical school with degree of MD or DO and licensed by the SC Board of Medical Examiners; experience in practice of medicine through internship completion.
Individuals selected for positions with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department's Disability Determination Service (DDS) will go through a complete federal background investigation. A suitability determination by the Social Security Administration is necessary to determine whether an employee can be issued credentials in order to have access to Social Security disability data, records, and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must complete full training in Social Security policies and procedures administered by Disability Determination Services.
