This role involves clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities in the field of Breast Imaging. The candidate will provide advanced breast imaging evaluations and perform interventional breast procedures, supervise and teach residents and fellows, and develop a focused body of research in Breast Imaging.
Key Responsibilities
- • Daily clinical supervision of residents and breast imaging fellows

- • Developing a focused body of research in the field of Breast Imaging, including clinical and translational research into imaging methods for detection, diagnosis, and evaluation of breast disease
Required
- • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
- • American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- • Sub-specialty training in Breast Imaging or equivalent experience
- • Prior research experience and demonstrated evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship

The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Breast Imaging. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology and have sub-specialty training in Breast Imaging or equivalent experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision of residents and breast imaging fellows and lecturing to medical students, radiology residents, fellows, and trainees from other departments.
Clinical responsibilities may include utilizing the most advanced breast imaging technology available to provide individually tailored, comprehensive evaluations for the early and precise detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a focused body of research in the field of Breast Imaging. The successful candidate must have prior research experience and have demonstrated evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship. Ample support and mentorship for research will be provided.
Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The clinical mission of the Division of Breast Imaging is to provide individually tailored comprehensive evaluations for the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. Our Breast Imaging Division, accredited by the American College of Radiology, provides screening and problem-solving mammography, breast MRI, and multimodality intervention for outpatients at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and its satellite locations.
