Trauma Neurosurgeon Opportunity in Downtown Orlando, Florida

This role provides focused inpatient neurotrauma coverage as the primary daytime responder for neurosurgical trauma cases at a Level I Trauma Center. The physician will work closely with a multidisciplinary trauma team, help shape neurotrauma best practices and program goals, and serve as a liaison between neurosurgery and hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first-line neurosurgeon for all incoming trauma cases during daytime hours
  • Evaluate and manage patients with TBI and other acute neurosurgical conditions
  • Perform emergent cranial neurosurgical procedures as indicated
  • Collaborate with trauma surgery, critical care, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Act as a liaison between hospital leadership and the trauma program
  • Participate in the development of best practices, protocols, and program goals for neurotrauma services
  • Ensure seamless transitions of care from inpatient to outpatient settings
Required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity, complex trauma cases
  • Commitment to team-based care and program development
Preferred
  • Fellowship training or significant experience in neurotrauma, cranial neurosurgery, or traumatic brain injury (TBI) preferred
  • Experience practicing in a Level I Trauma Center strongly preferred

Position Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Trauma Neurosurgeon to join our team at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center located in downtown Orlando. This is a unique opportunity to serve as the first dedicated inpatient trauma neurosurgeon, playing a critical role in advancing and shaping the future of our neurotrauma program. 

 

Position Overview
