This full-time faculty position involves designing, delivering, and continuously improving an integrated medical curriculum that prepares future physicians for clinical excellence and lifelong learning. The role includes teaching foundational science content, developing instructional materials, and engaging in interdisciplinary education within a collaborative academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- • Collaborate with faculty teams to design, implement, and continuously improve a horizontally and vertically integrated medical curriculum
- • Deliver foundational science content within an integrated curriculum using both traditional and active learning methodologies
- • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials, including case-based and clinically integrated learning resources
- • Design and implement formative and summative assessments that integrate biomedical and clinical sciences
- • Participate in course administration, student assessment, and curriculum delivery operations
- • Contribute to accreditation activities and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- • Serve as a mentor and advisor for student scholarly and research activities
- • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- • Participate in scholarly activities, including educational research, publications, and presentations
- • Engage in college and university committees, task forces, and academic initiatives
- • Support teaching and educational activities within the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program
Required
- • Terminal doctoral degree (MD, DO, or PhD) in a relevant biomedical science discipline
- • Demonstrated experience in undergraduate medical education, including curriculum development and delivery
- • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student success
Preferred
- • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: pathology, physiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology/biostatistics, or anatomy
- • Experience teaching across multiple biomedical disciplines within an integrated curriculum
- • Experience with active learning pedagogies (e.g., team-based learning, case-based learning, small-group facilitation)
- • Experience in interdisciplinary and interprofessional education environments
- • Proficiency in assessment development, including multiple-choice question writing
- • Demonstrated scholarly activity (publications, presentations, or educational innovation)
- • Experience mentoring and advising students
