Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon - Dayton Children's Hospital

The role involves providing specialized pediatric orthopedic surgical care with a focus on musculoskeletal oncology, hip preservation, joint reconstruction, and pediatric trauma. The position offers opportunities to work within an established team of surgeons and participate in academic teaching and faculty appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pediatric musculoskeletal oncology care including pelvic pathology
  • Perform hip preservation procedures
  • Conduct pediatric/adolescent joint reconstruction including joint replacement
  • Manage pediatric trauma cases
  • Participate in teaching opportunities with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Engage with multiple orthopedic residency programs
Required
  • Fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric orthopedic surgery
Preferred
  • Interest or experience in pediatric musculoskeletal oncology
  • Interest or experience in hip preservation
  • Interest or experience in pediatric/adolescent joint reconstruction
  • Interest or experience in pediatric trauma

Job Details:

Dayton Children’s Orthopedic Center is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified/eligible pediatric orthopedic surgeon with a focus in pediatric musculoskeletal oncology.

Department Specific Job Details:

Ideal candidates will have interest or experience in:

  • Pediatric musculoskeletal oncology (including pelvic pathology)
  • Hip preservation
  • Pediatric/adolescent joint reconstruction (including joint replacement)
  • Pediatric trauma

  • Established team of 8 surgeons, supported by APPs and a large therapy group
  • 33,000+ outpatient visits annually across 3 locations (Dayton Children’s Hospital Main Campus, Dayton Children’s South Campus in Miamisburg, Ohio and Dayton Children’s Outpatient Care Center in Troy)
  • ACS Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Freestanding children’s hospital with 35+ pediatric specialties serving a pediatric population of 510,000 from a 20-county region of central and southwestern Ohio and eastern Indiana
