Psychiatrist - Inpatient

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through personal counseling, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Provides clinical services to patients, evaluates mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders, and ensures medical stability while practicing within defined medical protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
Required
  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
Preferred
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
Location: Pacific Grove Hospital, 5900 Brockton Ave, Riverside, CA 92506

Position: Full-Time Inpatient Psychiatrist

Caseload: 1 unit; 20-24 beds.

Call Schedule: 1 week (M-F) per month and 1 weekend per month.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, flexible schedule during business hours.

Compensation: 1099 Contractor; Per eval and per follow up.

Pacific Grove Hospital is a 68-bed acute psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital. The one-story building is situated on 4.5 acres in the heart of Riverside, California. Our private hospital campus treats voluntary patients on three units. All of our units are self-contained with private courtyards, laundry facilities, patient lounges, and semi-private rooms.

We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team!

About The Role
