Required
- • Experience and proficiency in Primary Care and Family Medicine
- • Knowledge and expertise in Medicine and Urgent Care
- • Understanding and commitment to Community Health practices and principles
- • Board certification (or eligibility) in Family Medicine
- • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Ohio
- • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse populations
Preferred
- • Experience with addiction treatment and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a plus
- • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are an asset but not required
The Erie County Health Department (ECHD) and Erie County Community Health Center (ECCHC) are dedicated to protecting and promoting the well-being of all Erie County residents, with a focus on supporting vulnerable populations. As the region's only Federally Qualified Health Center, ECCHC provides a wide range of services, including primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, dental services, immunizations, mental health and addiction treatment, and medically managed detoxification. With eight convenient locations, including school-based health centers, they aim to eliminate barriers to healthcare access across the community. Guided by the 10 Essential Public Health Services, ECHD/ECCHC employs evidence-based practices to ensure community wellness and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Family Physician located in Sandusky, OH. The Family Physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, including primary and family medicine, to patients of all ages. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and treating illnesses, conducting routine check-ups, managing chronic conditions, providing urgent care as needed, and promoting overall wellness within the community. The role also involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to address public health concerns and support underserved populations. Physicians may also participate in efforts to enhance community health and improve access to medical services.
